About Me
Brandon Zanders
Designer
I'm a designer, husband, and new dad living in Houston, Texas.
I've spent the last 5+ years helping early-stage startups and small businesses ship thoughtful digital products and experiences across web, mobile, and tablet.
How did I end up here?
My design career (if I can call it that) started in 2016, during my junior year of college, when I began freelancing as a graphic designer. I quickly transitioned from designing logos and print materials to designing—and developing—websites. By 2018, I had graduated from college, and instead of showing off my shiny new degree in Management Information Systems to hiring managers, I leaned further into web design.
I'm not sure exactly when the epiphany happened, but at some point over the next two years, my design process matured. Instead of relying on a formulaic approach I had grown comfortable with (Navigation, Hero Image, H1 Headline, CTA Buttons, etc.), I began focusing more on outcomes and usability—the complexity of projects and client expectations demanded it. By 2020, I had discovered the facets of UX and underwent a complete paradigm shift in my design thinking.
Fast-forward to today: I'm in my final year at DePaul University (finally! 🙌), earning my Master's in Human-Computer Interaction—merging my user-centered approach with insights from cognitive and behavioral sciences to deepen my understanding of human behavior and perception.
